Laura G. Chirinos

Writer/Director Laura G. Chirinos is a SoCal native and avid creative storyteller. In support of the LGBTQ community while at college, she created and directed both dance and vocal pieces for the Queer Fashion Show, performing annually. As co-founder of production company Before North, she produced three independent features and numerous music videos. She also spent a year in the non-profit world as Creative Arts Director for the Boys & Girls Club.
In 2011, Chirinos landed a position in Theatrical DI at Technicolor Hollywood. While working in post, she directed her first short film REVELATIONS which screened at domestic and international festivals including HollyShorts, Lady Filmmakers and London's Portobello Film Festival, and was picked up for distribution by outlets Gaiam and ShortsHD. In 2015, Chirinos' short film THE LAST DEAL was given the Boys & Girls Club National Award of Achievement. In 2017, Chirinos shot proof of concept HEED THE CALL, was part of key personnel to establish the inaugural Los Angeles session of the female-led non-profit Camp Reel Stories, and was a Page International Screenwriting Awards semi-finalist with co-written short script HISTORY OF INTENT.
As a freelance music photographer, Chirinos has shot eclectic artists such as Janelle Monae, Portishead, Solange, The Dillinger Escape Plan, FKA Twigs, Nick Cave, Savages, Wu-Tang Clan, Bat For Lashes, and Run The Jewels.
